WELCOME TO RILEY & ASSOCIATES

Biography - Mai Ba, EA

I graduated from Walsh University (North Canton, Ohio) with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management. I spent the first 7 years of my career as a product solutions administrator and customer service manager with Diebold, Incorporated. I have extensive training in business management, operations planning, financial accounting, and project management. I started with Riley & Associates as a seasonal part-time tax preparer in January 2013, helping to prepare mostly individual tax returns. As soon as the credential became available through the IRS, I became a qualified member of the Annual Filing Season Program, completing several hours of continuing education and passing industry standard exams.

In June 2016, I came on board full-time as a staff accountant and find great satisfaction in the work I do and the people I meet. In January 2018, I passed the enrolled agent (EA) exam with the IRS, earning the privilege to represent taxpayers before the agency. I now assist in preparing tax returns for partnerships, corporations, non-profit organizations, private foundations, and estates and trusts. I find strategic tax planning and trust returns most exciting. I enjoy learning new tools and continuing education because of the value we can bring to our client base.

When I’m not crunching numbers, I have a great passion for youth mentorship, cooking, spending time at the beach (all seasons), and playing with my adorable nephew.
